His early work focused on neural plasticity of brain injury and cognitive impairment. He has since been involved in the field of rehabilitation mechanisms in stroke and vascular cognitive impairment for which he has had continuous national natural science foundation of China support for the past 8 years. Moreover, he presided over 10 scientific research subject and published more than 50 articles and 11 books.
